    if it is Sekt it doesn’t mean it is produced from German wine. The word Sekt means Sparkling Wine in modern German, but only Deutscher Sekt is original German Sparkling Wine.

    Most Sekt which is found on German supermarket shelves is a mass produce of Eastern European wines using the Charmat method, while real Deutscher Sekt is produced through traditional bottle fermenting.
